WINTER WONDERLAND BIKE THE LIGHTS RIDE Link
Tiny's Coffee North East, 1412 SE 12th Ave, Portland, OR Take Trimet (the NE Tiny's)
6:00pm
Winter Wonderland Portland has one night each year where the huge holiday light display surrounding Portland International Raceway is open to bicycles only. This year the event is earlier than past years, taking place in November rather than December. The 5-mile ride follows neighborhood greenways and dedicated bike paths to visit the light display, with an optional ride back to the start point. Admission is $6.00 at the event. Note that there are two Tiny's Coffee locations, and our ride meets at the Northeast Tiny's, just a half-block South of the Tillamook Street greenway. Holiday-decorated bikes are welcome on this ride and at Winter Wonderland!

Friends of Trees is seeking intrepid tree fans & bikers of all kinds to plant with us!

Bring your bike and join us to plant trees in the Brooklyn, Buckman, Richmond, HAND SE Portland neighborhoods. We especially need volunteers with bike trailers or cargo bikes to haul tree stock and supplies, but it's not required.

To plant, please arrive to the meeting site by 8:45am to enjoy some hot coffee and breakfast treats. The planting starts promptly at 9:00am and runs until 1pm at the latest. We provide gloves, tools, planting guidance, and a thoughtful bike route and tree map, so all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Our neighborhood volunteers will also provide a potluck!

SYMBOLS OF THE SEASON AT PITTOCK MANSION Link
Japanese American Historical Plaza, 100 NW Naito Pkwy Portland, OR 97209 Take Trimet
1:00pm
Join us as we storm Stumptowns castle in the clouds to take in Symbols of the Season the holiday exhibit that has been a Portland tradition for 50 years. The mansion will be transformed with decorations inspired by the symbols of the season, from angels, elves, and evergreens to snowflakes, sleds, and Santa Claus.

Admission is $11 during the holiday season. The 4 mile ride to the mansion goes 900 feet up, so the ride will be steep, but we will regroup as needed to keep everyone together. A bonus of biking there is we can use the back entrance that is closed to cars, thus avoiding busy Burnside St. altogether.

RIDERS TO THE STARS Link WA
Portland IKEA Store, 10280 NE Cascades Pkwy, Portland, OR 97220 Take Trimet (at the bike racks next to the store entrance)
4:00pm
This ride goes up to Vancouver to pass by the cluster of over-the-top holiday light houses on the North side of the I-205 bridge. The highlight of the ride is RGB Stars (http://rgbstars.com/)  a street with the houses covered in thousands of stars containing red, green, and blue LEDs that can glow any color by varying the intensity of those independently-controlled light elements. This highly-choreographed music/light show requires a half dozen computers to run everything.

Holiday decorated bikes are welcome. We'll get noticed riding on the bike path that goes along the middle of the I-205 Bridge!
