- PREGNANT LADIES (AND NEW PARENTS) RIDE
-
11:00amPregnant ladies on bikes! Won't we be adorable! We'll start with a quick workshop on cycling with small children, what gear to look for, and how to keep your family safe while pedaling. Then we'll be off on a mini-tour of the many small, neighborhood playgrounds in SE (and southern NE) Portland. Expect the pace to be slow and the terrain to be flat and will stick mainly to neighborhood greenways. Dads and dads-to-be are welcome with a pregnant woman or child attendant or with a pillow underneath your shirt.
We'll probably wind up the ride at one of Portland's many amazing ice cream shops

DEADHEAD RIDE [CANCELLED]
- [CANCELLED], [CANCELLED]2:00pm, [CANCELLED]
([CANCELLED]) - GET LOST!
2:00pm - 5:00pm, Feel free to bail whenever you wanna go somewhere elseBack for its 4th year, Get Lost! is a ride led entirely by chance. Dice are rolled to determine how many blocks to ride, and which direction to turn once we get there (Odd total =R, Even =L).
You never know what to expect. Since we won't be taking designated bike routes riders should be pretty comfortable in semi-hairy conditions, but dangerous or illegal routes will not be traveled.
Probably not a loop, but that's what we said the first year, and we (eerily) ended up in the exact place we started! Read about that year's ride here: http://bit.ly/eDaPZW

One really gnarly hill at Gateway Green and another steepish slope at St. Luke's, but the rest of the ride is generally slow & easy. This ride is not a loop, but if you know how to get home from the Springwater or Powell I will get you started in the right direction.

10:00amThis a very challenging bike ride to the top of an extinct volcano. The ride will be at an easy pace and nobody will be left behind as it is not a challenge of time. If you are a rider who rides around town and up hills, you can do it. Bring food and water, we will stop at the local stores on the way up in Corbett. The total miles will be about 60 miles and it is about 18 miles of climbing to an elevation of 4065 feet. To shave off some miles meet at the Gresham Transit Center at 11:30am.

- DAY CAMPING
-
10:45am, End time depends on the group.Q: What do you call it when it's more than a picnic but less than overnight camping?
A: Day camping.
Bring a lock and whatever will make you and yours comfortable hanging out at a nature-y sort of place with water, sand, trees, and the like.
Expect a 3-mile ride + short hike + your feet will likely get wet.
May not be suitable for kids to ride their own bikes. About 1 mile will be on arterial street w/ bike lane. The rest is on quiet street or path.
This is a one-way ride but we will lead you back to the start if needed.

THINGS PORTLAND DIDN'T BUILD
-
2:00pm - 5:00pmOver the past 150 years people have had lots of ideas for Portland. Some of them got built. Some of them didn't. Come take a tour of the latter.
We'll visit a fake pioneer village, a motorcross course, a mega-block-city-hall, parks, tree-lined boulevards, riverfront marshes, freeways (one-way, underground and capped) and a stadium that all don't exist. Are we better off for it? You be the judge.
This will be an easy-paced ride with many stops. We'll break in the middle for a snack and a rest. Informative handout will be handed out.

- THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH RIDE
- Rose Quarter, N Center Court St and N Hassalo St5:30pm - 8:00pm, ride at 6 pm, food by 7:30
(near the fountains by the Rose Garden)Finding a room to rent in Portland sucks - we've got the second-lowest apartment vacancy rate in the country. But thanks to bikes, things are about to get better: in the next two years, hundreds of new apartments designed for middle-class, low-car families will be opening up in the central city, hopefully helping keep rents under control for all of us. Michael Andersen and Zef Wagner will lead a ride to the awesomest and ugliest of these new buildings and a conversation about ways the city can keep bike-friendly rents low. Bring cash for a wonkalicious food cart meal at the end.

If you know of any haunted spots in Portland, let Lil' Boo know and she'll try to incorporate them into the ride.
Ride is not a loop, will end in SE PDX. Not too late, but after dark. That's when the scary happens.
